The national youth team ended the football match with the Azerbaijan national team in a draw

The national youth team "under 21 years" of the Republic of Moldova ended the friendly football match with the similar representative of Azerbaijan in a draw, informs Moldova 1.

The match played at the "Dalga Arena" stadium in Baku ended in a draw, score 0:0. This was the first training match of our young "tricolors" for the preliminaries of the 2025 European Championship with a renewed batch. This is because only footballers born in 2002 and later can play in the next preliminaries.

"In the first half, I don't know if the opponents reached our goal. We didn't do a lot of things either. In the second half we played a bit weaker. Of course I wanted to see all the boys at work. I made an impression to some extent, but we still have a lot of work to do," said the Moldovan coach, Ştefan Stoica.

"I think I played a good match, but there is always room for improvement. For the future, I think that our team has a very high potential and will give good results", noted footballer Daniel Lisu.

"We showed that we can, that we have strength and we hope that in the near future it will be better", said the footballer Nicu Namolovan.

The coach Ştefan Stoica declared that until the end of the year, the national youth team will play a few more friendly matches, prior to the preliminaries of the European Championship in 2025. The qualification campaign will already start next year.
